Easy Peasy Cookies

Cookies, along with their many names and variations, have a long history; however for for the U.S., the “cookie” is just as young as the country itself. The name and beginning of the cookie traveled with the Dutch to America in the early 18th century. The Dutch word “koekje” soon became “cookie”, and can be found loaded with sugar, chocolate chips, nuts, and all other ingredients.

Ever since I discovered this simple recipe for cookies, back in my college days, I have been in love! They’re as soft as cake yet the perfect cookie size. Best of all, they take no time at all to put together and enjoy.

Dessert has never been easier!

Recipe:

  1. 1 box cake mix
  2. ½ c. oil
  3. 2 eggs
  4. ½ c. chocolate chips
  5. Walnuts (optional)

Combine everything in a bowl. Should produce a clean cookie dough. Scoop golf-sized balls onto a cookie sheet–flatten them out slightly–and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-12 minutes. Cool for 5-10 minutes and enjoy with milk of choice^-^
