Will You NaNoWriMo?

It’s October, which means NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. To prepare for this, October is known as Preptober, as writers like you and me get ready to start writing our next novel during this month-long writing challenge.

To give you a little background, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It’s also an organization, dealing with backlash for things they have said toward AI. You may look it up, I won’t write about it. I prefer to stand by the purpose of NaNoWriMo–to get writers creating their novels of 50,000 words in the month of November. (Read more about the organization here.)

I have chosen to participate not because I am for or against the organization but because I need the deadline to motivate me to write my next book. I am currently dealing with writer’s block due to a drastic life change (divorce) and need a push to get back on track.

My hope is to write book 4 of my Happily Ever After series, which is actually a novella. And if I finish that in a short period of time, I can then work on book 5. The two should give me roughly 50,000 words in total.

How about you? Will you NaNoWriMo? (I know, it’s a question that doesn’t make sense but it sounds good, and you get my point.)

If you choose to participate, I have the tools for you: grab my Novel Writing Kit and watch its accompanying courses now, during this month of Preptober. And I’ll see you and your writing project come November!

Good luck! Have fun reading and writing!

❤️ Lysa
